The Central Associations of health insurance companies represented by the IKK Federal Association are responsible for the issue of the medical aid register (§128 SGB V) where refundable remedies and aids are listed. Prior to registration of medical aids these products are tested by the medical service of the central associations (MDS) regarding the functionality, therapeutic benefit and quality.
