    How it works :
How Injex works in bodyInstead of a conventional needle, the Injex system employs an injection ampule with a micro orifice of just 0.17 mm. By comparison, the diameter of the thinnest needle is 0.25 mm. Using high pressure created by a compressed spring within the Injex, the medicine is propelled into the subcutaneous disposed tissue (hypodermic application). Penetration depth is 4 to 9 mm, depending on the injected volume of the drug.
Application : The Injex has been designed for those who require subcutaneous delivery of medication over a longer period of time. Another advantage of this system is that it is extremely durable (5 years guarantee). In the future this system could also be used successfully in a variety of other areas, where medicines have to be administered subcutaneously.
Needle-free delivery also results in better patient compliance as well as insuring a high level of application safety.
All the basics of this, where established with the help of a validated ex vivo model. Additionally the model permits the examination of all drugs regarding their pharmacokinetics following needle-free application.
The study results showed a penetration depth between 4mm - 9mm when 0.05 to 0.5 ml of liquid dye was used. An injection into skeletal muscle was not observed in over 100 experiments.
A contribution towards limiting costs for public and private health care providers :
*Diabetics who move onto insulin too late cause considerable additional cost for the cost carriers.
*Diagnosis and treatment cost for HIV or Hepatitis caused by needle stick accidents are reduced.
*Bedtime in the hospital can be shortened.
*Out-patient treatment of cancer patients and injection carried out by relatives are considerably simplified. Possible lowering of costs through the use of nursing services
